Rabbi for the Budge Foundation
Frankfurt am Main
Speaker on the Religion Lab’s “The Holy Land – religion as a means for connecting peoples. Interreligious dialogue with a look at the future” panel

Andrew Steiman is the only Rabbi who has given spiritual care to both current soldiers and their families, including war veterans, as well as to Shoah survivors and their offspring. He is mentor of the Young Adults Forum of the German Coordinating-Council for Christian-Jewish Cooperation Organisations as well as one of two initiators of the egalitarian congregation of Frankfurt’s Jewish Community. From 2007 through 2010 he was board member of the coordinating committee of the Council for Christian-Jewish Cooperation Organisations. He is equally active in the International Council of Christians and Jews (ICCJ), where he represents traditional Judaism. Being the only orthodox rabbi on this council, he has been known for giving impulse to dialogue which would otherwise have gone unnoticed. His Christian-Jewish dialogue reaches out to many cultures and generations. Since 2003 has been chaplain of the Budge Foundation’s Christian-Jewish retirement home, the only retirement home of its kind in Germany.
